Sustainability is part of our everyday practice. We continuously work to use energy efficiently and reduce our CO₂ emissions.

One important element: We heat our 4,000 m² production area with a groundwater heat pump.Instead of using fossil fuels, we harness the natural energy of groundwater – efficiently and with careful use of resources.

We also rely on groundwater for cooling During the summer, large areas are passively cooled – without the need for energy-intensive refrigeration.

We have largely switched our lighting to modern LED technology.This reduces energy consumption while providing a durable and efficient solution.

We also take a conscious approach to packaging and the use of resources. Wherever possible, packaging is reused and the use of plastic is reduced to what is necessary.In this way, even small measures in our everyday operations help conserve resources and avoid waste.

We are particularly proud of our photovoltaic system: It generates around 130,000 kWh of solar electricity per year.With a total electricity demand of approximately 300,000 to 400,000 kWh, we generate around one third of the electricity we need ourselves.

And: We use the vast majority of the electricity generated by our PV system ourselves. Only a small proportion is fed into the public grid. This means the energy we generate is used directly where it is needed.

🌱 What does this mean for our climate?

With our photovoltaic system, we generate 130,000 kWh of renewable electricity every year and use almost all of it ourselves. This reduces the amount of electricity we purchase from the grid and helps us avoid CO₂ emissions.

Our self-generated PV electricity alone saves around 20 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Depending on tree species, age and location, this corresponds approximately to the annual CO₂ absorption of 1,000 to 2,000 trees..

This shows that many individual measures can make a big difference when combined.

The heat pump, passive groundwater cooling, LED lighting, photovoltaics, and a conscious approach to packaging and plastic all work together to make our operations more energy-efficient and climate-friendly, step by step.

Because sustainability starts where we ourselves can make a difference. And that is exactly where we will continue.
